Telugu cinema has no death of talent and ideas as young directors are trying their luck and sharpening their skills with short films. However knowledgeable you are only your craft will improve with practical experience and many are slowly but surely learning. Also, short films have become their own industry these days and web-series started becoming profitable ventures with data revolution.
But as many games spoil with more and more coming into it, even Short films in Telugu started showing signs of becoming too routine and lackluster. Someone who can really inspire needed to enter the industry and change the means. A person like Ram Gopal Verma is good in doing that but he seems to have promised that he will degrade the industry further without any doubt. His web-series, Guns and Thighs promised to have crude elements and nude scenes but the dose seems to have increased more than normal.
Well, one may argue nude and crude scenes did not make Spartacus or Game of Thrones, porn but with RGV’s penchant to go to extremes and few images he is releasing on Instagram, the tone for the story and series is set to be semi-porn. We don’t condemn anybody’s choice of story telling but if such harsh almost pornographic scenes earn more and more popularity, with not many mature individuals around making movies, they make thing this is easy way to produce a film and even harass the young models and actresses to show more and more skin than required. Who look to make money from whatever is getting popular could even force those directors who doesn’t have such scenes to include! This will end the creativity in short films.
