Baahubali series, mainly Baahubali-2, film rested on the shoulders of all the actors more than SS Rajamouli, as the second one, in particular, is more drama-oriented film while the first one needed a larger than life yet believable world-building by Rajamouli and his team. Once, we got acquainted with characters, the believability in stunt work and drama came from the actors.
When we think about it, Prabhas had to take up the bulk of the stress to play Amarendra Baahubali and Mahendra Baahubali, without taking any rest for five years. He had to build his body according to the characters he is playing and maintain a body language that is differentiable between the two characters. It is not easy for any actor but being a darling, Prabhas did it without dropping the smile from his face.
Still, Prabhas did not get any critics or popular choice awards from major award ceremonies. While, Baahubali did win many technical awards, rightfully, without the brilliant performances of the actors, the story and movies couldn’t have been so believable. So, the fans rise this question on social media, Is Prabhas snubbed? Did he not deserve at least a special mention, for his efforts? They are questioning! Well, awards do go to people according to a jury’s choice and we cannot really pinpoint what was the thought process of the people adjudging them.
