Mani Ratnam is one maverick filmmaker who established his mark on Indian Cinema as firmly as anyone can. He directed classics after classics like Geethanjali, Roja, Anjali, Thalapathy, Mouna Ragam, Iddaru, Nayakudu and Sakhi. He proved with his movie OK Bangaram that he still can deliver a box office hit after debacles like Ravanan and Kadal. The maker has released Cheliya with Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari this year and that did not become a success in Telugu and Tamil.
Many thought the maker will try to look back and stop here. But he has increased his pace of work instead. Every day, Kollywood press is busy writing new combination stories about his next and we wonder how many will end up true. As per the reports, the maker is researching for a big film where he will be adapting the great book in Tamil Literature, Ponniyan Selvan and that could be made with a huge star cast. While the research is going on for that the maker wants to cast Sara Ali Khan in his next with Ram Charan but the movie might take some more time as the maker still needs time to write the script.
There were also reports about him making a movie with Madhavan and Fahad Fassil in Tamil and Malayalam. But the movie is now said to be on hold. Now, the reports are afloat that Mani will collaborate with Vijay Sethupathi and the actor has met him at this office to hear the story line for the movie. The actor is keen to give dates for the director and if it all materialises, the movie will be made only in Tamil. After this, his movie with Ram Charan could take a step forward as per the reports. Well, the buzz for Ram Charan and Mani Ratnam doesn’t seem to die, does it?
