Currently, director Shankar is working on two massive projects in the form of Indian 2 and RC15. While Indian 2 has Kamal Haasan as the lead actor, RC15 has Mega Powerstar Ram Charan as the main lead.
Recently, Shankar wrapped up a 10-day schedule for RC15 at various locations in Hyderabad, Vizag and Kakinada.Co-starring Kiara Advani, and Anjali as the female leads, RC15 also has Srikanth, Sunil, and SJ Suryah in prominent roles. Dil Raju is bankrolling this high-budget social drama.
Later, he kick-started a 30-day long schedule for Indian 2 at one of the studios in Chennai. Co-starring Kajal Aggarwal as the female lead, Indian 2 also has Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar among others in key roles. Being bankrolled by Lyca Productions banner in association with Red Giant Movies banner, the film has its music composed by Anirudh. Indian 2 is a sequel to the star actor-director duo’s 1996 blockbuster, Indian( Bharateeyudu in Telugu).
Meanwhile, the latest we hear from our sources is that both Indian 2 and RC15 are likely to release during the same season. Reportedly, Dil Raju is planning to release RC15 during Sankranthi 2024. On the other hand, Red Giant Movies is also aiming to release Indian 2 during the same Pongal season. If the news turns into reality, it is going to be Shankar vs Shankar during Sankranthi/Pongal 2024.
