Is he the reason for Yuddham Sharanam’s low performance?

Box office is never a darling of one person. It is a fickle minded beauty and you never know how it reacts. You might have made a good movie with good intentions but still you can end up on the negative side of the spectrum and vice versa too. Naga Chaitanya’s Yuddham Shranam, even though had good music and decent promotions, it could not rake the interest in the audience as much as other movies of Naga Chaitanya.

Ever since Premam, Naga Chaitanya has been able to change the public view point towards him. He has also been improving with good performances at the box office too. Rarandoyi Veduka Chuddam, that released in Summer, became a good hit and also grossed more than 40 crores at the box office and became the highest grosser in Naga Chaitanya’s career. After such a hit, many expected the movie to open well enough but it did not.

Even the reviews have not been favourable. Nagarjuna who normally is highly vocal about his son’d movies and even SS Rajamouli who supports the producer, Sai Korrapati, unconditionally stayed silent for this movie. His son Karthikeya, has been the executive producer and still his silence has made many suspicious. But the news in spread is that Nagarjuna and Rajamouli, stayed away from promoting because they knew the result before. It is Karthikeya who took the project to Sai and also, been the co-director for few scenes as he is also a friend of Krishna Marimuthu, the director. In any case, the movie is unable to rise above the severe negative word of mouth even on the first weekend!
