Ravi Teja struggled with a series of flops after Dhamaka, which affected his market. Irumudi, directed by Shiva Nirvana, initially had low expectations.
However, the first-look poster and songs, especially Mallepoola Pallaki, created strong buzz. The film received a super-hit response on day one and recorded impressive openings.

Irumudi had a theatrical business of Rs. 18.6 crore and needs Rs. 19 crore share to reach break-even. On its first day, the film collected Rs. 13.65 crore share and Rs. 25.2 crore gross worldwide. It now needs just Rs. 5.35 crore share to achieve break-even.
