Aamir Khan threat case has taken a new turn as Mumbai Police traced the digital trail of the threatening voice messages and social media posts to IP addresses linked to Sweden and Canada.
Investigators believe the people behind the threats used VPN services and the Tor browser to hide their real identity, making the investigation more difficult.
The threats were sent in the name of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang and accused Aamir of promoting “love jihad”. They surfaced soon after his marriage to Gauri Spratt.
Police have contacted foreign authorities and online platforms to collect user details and technical information.
While the claims are being taken seriously, officials have not confirmed any connection with the actual Bishnoi gang. Security around Aamir Khan has been tightened as the investigation continues.
