Nandamuri Balakrishna is currently busy with director Boyapati Srinu’s Akhanda. The film marks the third collaboration between the actor and the director, after their super successful films, Simha and Legend.
Akhanda went through its fair share of problems, with the director not being able to finalise the leading lady for quite some time. After a lot of speculation, Pragya Jaiswal was finalised as the leading lady of the film. It is now being said that she will be seen as an IAS officer in the film. Actor Srikanth will be seen playing the lead antagonist in the film, while Jagapathi Babu will be seen in an important role.
In a recent interview, Boyapati said that the shooting of the film is almost done, with the exception of the climax, a song and a small patchwork. Amidst rumours of the film being planned to release for Vinayaka Chaviti, Boyapati said that he hasn’t locked any release date yet, and would do that once the shooting of the film is completed. The teaser of Akhanda, along with the title, was released on Ugadi this year. The teaser went on to create records on YouTube, due to the powerful dialogue and appearance of Balakrishna in the teaser. There are a lot of expectations on the film, given that it’s the third film between Boyapati and Balakrishna.
