It was announced yesterday that the Bellamkonda Srinivas starrer Rakshasudu would be getting a sequel, which would be directed by Ramesh Varma, who directed the first part as well. It was also said that Ramesh Varma was looking to rope in a big actor for this sequel, and not Bellamkonda.
According to the latest reports, Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi is being considered to play the lead role in the film. Given that he’s got a good following in the Telugu and Tamil states, and even in the Northern part of the country, Ramesh Varma is said to be considering Vijay to be the perfect person for the sequel. Vijay is currently busy with several projects, so the sequel might take some time to roll.
On the other hand, Rakshasudu was the remake of the Tamil film Ratsasan, starring Vishnu Vishal and Amala Paul. The film is now being remade in Hindi as well. There’s no clarity over why Bellamkonda will not be returning to the film, but sources say this is because he is busy with this Bollywood debut. Bellamkonda is making his Bollywood debut with the remake of Young Rebel Star Prabhas and director Rajamouli’s blockbuster hit Chatrapathi. Director VV Vinayak is directing the film in Hindi.
