Director Puri Jagannadh is going through a lean phase after the disaster of the pan-India film, Liger. Starring Vijay Deverakonda in the lead role, Ramya Krishnan was seen in a key role in the movie. Co-starring Bollywood heroine Ananya Panday as the female lead, Liger backfired in southern states and the Hindi version as well and buried the dreams of Vijay Deverakonda to gain nationwide popularity with the film.
Later, news came out that Puri Jagannadh is planning to do a film with young hero Vishwak Sen but there is no update on it later. Even news came out that Puri might join forces with his close aide cum star hero Ravi Teja for a project. Meanwhile, the latest grapevine among industry circles is that a project in the combination of Puri Jagannadh and Megastar Chiranjeevi is likely to be announced soon.
It’s well known that Puri was one of the few directors who were supposed to direct Chiranjeevi’s comeback 150th film. Titled Auto Johnny, the film’s final script couldn’t get the Megastar approval and the project was left unnoticed. Recently, during GodFather promotions, Chiranjeevi asked Puri Jagannadh about the film in their combination is well-known.
