Industry Talk: No change in Radhe Shyam’s release date

A couple of months back, the makers of pan-India stars Prabhas and Pooja Hegde’s upcoming romantic period drama, Radhe Shyam have announced that the film will have a worldwide release on January 14, 2022 as Sankranthi festival special. Along with Radhe Shyam, Pawan Kalyan’s Bheemla Nayak and Mahesh Babu’s Sarkaru Vaari Paata are gearing up for a release during the same season on January 12th and 13th respectively.

For the past few weeks news is also circulating that Megastar Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan’s highly-anticipated social drama, Acharya is also looking for a release during the same season. Even news came out that Balakrishna’s upcoming actioner, Akhanda is also aiming for a Sankranthi festival season release. But since yesterday, Bollywood media has been reporting that ace director SS Rajamouli’s prestigious project, RRR will have a pan-India release on January 12th. Though RRR makers are yet to announce the film’s new release date, if the film comes during the Sankranthi season all the films scheduled for a theatrical release during the season will be left with no option but to postpone the release date. But the latest reports coming in from our authentic sources is that even if Rajamouli’s RRR comes during the Sankranthi season, there will be no change in the release date of Radhe Shyam. Reportedly, Radhe Shyam makers are very much confident on the film’s output and are ready to lock horns with Rajamouli’s RRR. However, to get clarity on the release of big budget Tollywood movies, we have to wait and see for a few more weeks.

Along with Prabhas and Pooja Hegde, Radhe Shyam has Krishnam Raju, Bhagyashree, Sachin Khedekar, Murali Sharma, Kunaal Roy Kapur in prominent roles.
