Indian 2: Senapathi’s Return Confirmed for Special Weekend

Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan and director Shankar are set to reprise their iconic collaboration in ‘Indian 2,’ a sequel to their blockbuster film from two decades ago. Kamal Haasan will once again portray the revered ‘Senapathi,’ a freedom fighter and vigilante pursued by the authorities.

Initially, there were rumors of the film being released in two parts, but the team has now confirmed that it will be a single-part release. The release date is scheduled for the Independence weekend of 2024, aiming for an August 15th release.

‘Indian 2’ is anticipated to be one of Kamal Haasan’s most expensive projects. The star-studded cast includes Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simha, Samuthirakani, Guru Somasundaram, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and the late actors Vivek, Nedumudi Venu, and Manobala.

Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music, while Rathnavelu handles cinematography, Muthuraj oversees art direction, and Sreekar Prasad takes charge of editing.
