Indian 2 is not shelved, says Kamal Haasan

The shooting for Maverick director Shankar and Kamal Haasan’s highly-anticipated film, Indian 2 was stopped in March 2020 after an unfortunate freak incident on the sets. Later, due to the Covid lockdown, the film stalled and never resumed its shooting.

In November 2020, even the production house (Lyca Productions) approached the Madras High court and dropped a legal complaint that direction Shankar is not resuming the film’s shooting. Even the court directed the team members to sort out the issues by having a health discussion. But later there is no improvement on the issue from the team members and gave scope to speculations that the project is shelved completely. Eventually, Shankar became busy with his ongoing project with Ram Charan.

Meanwhile, in a recent media interaction during his new film, Vikram promotions, Kamal revealed that the shooting for Indian 2 will resume soon but remains tight slipped on when the film resumes its shooting. Will Shankar start working on Indian 2 soon after wrapping up Ram Charan’s project? Remains to be seen.
