Kamal Haasan film Indian 2 is set to release this Friday that is on 12th July. Directed by Shankar and produced by Lyca Productions and Red Giant Films the movie is facing legal issues just before its release.
Aasan Rajendran a martial arts instructor from Kerala filed a case against the team for not seeking permission to use techniques from “Varma Kalai”.
This technique combines yoga, massage and martial arts known for both healing and causing harm to the body. Rajendran approached the Madurai court with the first hearing taking place recently.
The legal team representing Indian 2 requested more time, leading to the postponement of the next hearing.
Aasan Rajendran claims that he trained Kamal Haasan for the first Indian movie in 1996 and was credited for it. He argues that his skills were used in Indian 2 without his consent and has requested the court to stop both the theatrical and online release of the film.
