Rakul Preet Singh has achieved a lot of success in a short span since he started to be a part of Telugu Films from the year, 2011. She acted in Keertana in a guest role and then got a big break with her movie, Venkatadri Express, in 2013. She did Yaariyan in Hindi simultaneously and decided to concentrate more on Telugu as the offers from the producers were flooding before her doorstep. The actress shaped her career with many hits in her 16 films in Telugu and soon she will be acting with Suriya and Karthi in Tamil. Also, the word is out that she will be acting in Hindi with Siddharth Malhotra, in Aiyaary in the direction of Baby and M.S.Dhoni fame, Neeraj Pandey.
The actress shared her excitement with media and here are few excerpts. “I’ve never chosen acting as my profession and only took it up as i got an offer during my B.Sc. days in 2009. I did Gilli in Kannada with a remuneration of 5 lakhs and post the movie, even though there were offers, looked to complete my education. After graduation, I got the chance to act in a Telugu movie and tried to act in a guest role to understand the language first.
“Now, I can fluently speak in Telugu but never tried to dub for my character as my diction is not completely perfect. Here people are particular about diction and as my NRI character in Nannaku Prematho gave me the space to dub, I did it. I recently, did get a lot of name and recognition for my roles in movies like Rarandoyi Veduka Chuddam and I should say, Telugu Industry has given me a lot. So, I want to continue my journey in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi and I think there is no language barrier as Baahubali proved so.
“I’m excited about Aiyaary and feel acting in Hindi as homecoming as my mother tongue is Hindi. I’m more comfortable in the language but I would like to prove my acting skills with this movie than ever. Also, my role in Syder is something I’m looking forward to. Even though I might not be so important in the mix of the things, my role is interesting as a clumsy medico and you will all love me in the film.”
