Legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja continues to inspire the world with his timeless music. Even at 83, he works with youthful energy.
This year marks 50 years since his entry into cinema. He recently created history by performing his first full symphony with the famous London Symphony Orchestra, becoming the first Indian composer to do so.
With over 8,500 songs and music for 1,500+ films, his work has touched generations. Also a Rajya Sabha member, Ilaiyaraaja is being showered with birthday wishes from fans, stars, and leaders on his 83rd birthday.
In a special announcement, he revealed that the London Symphony Orchestra will perform live in Tamil Nadu on August 2. He wants people in India to experience this global-level music.
Ilaiyaraaja said he’s not doing it for fame, but to make Indian music and culture better known and loved. His message is clear Cherish and spread our musical heritage with pride.
