iBomma Ravi, known for running a Telugu movie piracy website, is back in the news. After his arrest last year, his bank accounts were frozen as part of the investigation.
Ravi has now approached the court seeking access to the money in those accounts. Ravi was arrested by Hyderabad police in November last year in connection with the piracy case.
Police reportedly alleged that he earned over Rs. 20 crore through piracy. Around ₹3 crore linked to him was reportedly frozen in different bank accounts.
Ravi told the court that the frozen funds have made it difficult for his family to manage daily expenses.
He requested that some accounts be unfrozen to help his family meet basic needs. The court’s decision is awaited.
