You all remember Suchileaks, don’t you? South Indian singer, song composer, Suchitra found herself amidst of all the hoopla of exposing the sexual harassment stories of Film Industries. The lady was going through serious depression and had a breakdown during the time as revealed by her husband. The singer came out to give an interview to a daily about her condition during the time and made it clear that she lost all hope and was not even in a proper condition to speak. She apologised for everything that happened on her name and said that feels profound shame for all the kind of tweets posted on her account. She said everything happened without her knowledge and even though she thought of coming out and speaking against the perpetrators, in her recovery phase from severe break down, she needed time to even find words that can escape her system, organically.
She said she could not go against her own film fraternity or turn her back towards her long time acquaintances and friends just like that. As she had the decency to understand how personal the abuses were and how wrongly the names of big persons were being dragged into everything in her name. “To just gain some popularity or have their personal vendetta, people used my name and it was clear as I never use such words and every other account created on my name had similar language”, she pointed.
“My husband, Karthik was a big help for me in my condition and I am slowly recovering from the situation with time. It is never easy to just wake up one day say I’m depressed and then go back to who you are. It takes time and lots of patience. I cannot face my friends or just issuing some apology will nor suffice for the way I feel violated and hope they can understand where I am coming from and what my stance are in the entire mishap. Soon people who hacked my account and dragged me into everything will face the wrath as I feel immensely responsible for everything.”
