Rangasthalam has been the most discussed topic everywhere now. The performance of Ram Charan Tej and direction, writing of Sukumar have become highly popular and many are talking about the nuances in the film and raw emotions. Along with them the visuals of Cinematographer Ratnavelu are also being praised by many. Critics and audience are stunned by the rustic and raw visuals alike. The movie has already collected 28 crores share from Two Telugu States and it is in the knocking distance of 2 Million USD in USA, within just three days of release.

Ratnavelu talked about his work to a media outlet and he shared some intricate details. He said, “Sukumar and I are friends from the time I worked with him in Arya for the first time. He understands me and constantly we bounce off ideas with each other. While we were talking about this idea, he said he wants a rustic and rugged Village film set in 2015. I told him it will be better if we take 1980’s as background as we both can connect to the time period. There is so much work that we had to put in and I had to show parched fields as the greens and yellows are not reminiscent of every village. I had to struggle hard to light the scenes in different ways and Sukumar appreciates that detailing and my work so much, that I tend to go an extra mile for him.”

He continued, “I enjoyed Charan’s performance but we had to struggle hard to capture the romance between him and Samantha. Those were highly difficult shots but we pulled off well. I asked Samantha to get some tan and looking at herself, she was surprised after watching the movie. There are many scenes where we had to depend on real locations and enhance them with different lighting schemes to not depend overly on graphics. I am happy that people are recognising the efforts.”

He also talked about Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, his next big film. He said, “I was thrilled to work with Megastar Chiranjeevi and Amitabh Bachchan. Capturing in a single frame is a huge delight. Amitabh Bachchan is very down-to-earth person and he said that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had special respect for me after working with me for Robo. Sye Raa is being shot in Cinemascope and we are trying to take back viewers to the roots and we are very happy with work we finished till now.”
