Daggubati ‘Victory’ Venkatesh started his career in 1986 and recently completed thirty years in the Telugu Film Industry. He was asked to act by his father, Daggubati Ramanaidu to fulfill his wish to become an actor and the respectful son, accepted his father’s wish as his command. He never tried to look back once he chose to ride down the path and the destiny favoured him with many memorable roles. He won state Government recognition for excellence in acting, Nandi Awards for Best Actor, several times and being modest about that he credits that to his directors and writers who inspired him with strong characters and helped him through. His movie, Guru, remake of Saala Khadoos/ Irudhi Sutturu has been slated to hit the screens on 31st of March and the actor interacted with media as part of promotions.
He talked about several things along with his 75th movie and the movie in question, Guru as well. He shared his thinking process behind accepting any role. He stated that he always looked at his films as means of business and gave importance to everyone making money who was involved in the project. He seemed to have high hopes on his soon to release, Guru movie as he looked upbeat sharing about the shooting time and he sweared to his fans that he will look completely new in the movie.
He praised the efforts of director Sudha Kongara and expressed his delight in reading a full script for the first time. He prepared for the role for whole six months talking to various boxing champions and coaches. He also spent time on reducing his weight and joked that he didn’t feel the need to color his hair for such a realistic role suitable to his age. He decided to take some time off and listen to scripts for his 75th as the Puri Jagannath and Krish projects failed to take off after initial discussions. He showcased a lot of maturity when talking about his spiritual side and advised his fans to not complicate lives by comparing their lives to others!
