Akkineni Nagarjuna is gearing up for his devotional film Om Namo Venkatesaya due to release next week. He had promoting the movie aggressively and today he met the press in order to answer the questions and let the word popularise about the movie. He has been very active and highly handsome even though his age suggests opposite. Many of the media experts asked him about his future plans and the movie that will release on February 10. He seemed quite confident about the movie being good and when asked about how will youth connect to it, he honestly replied even he is waiting for the verdict. He appealed that if you follow God and go to temple to visit him then try to learn about his story as well in an entertaining way. He further talked about the care the team took while researching about the temple and expressed his disappointment that the original form of the structures are no longer being preserved.
In the film, he said the original temple without the gold coating can be seen as the replicas were constructed with lot of pain and work. He praised Keeravani for his Back Ground Score and said after watching the DTS mixed version, he is even more happy. When asked about Shirdi Sai he did express his disappoint over it being not as successful as his other devotionals and reasoned the docudrama approach as the main reason. He also said the team took care of that this time. When asked about the rumours surrounding the release date, he said they have never planned to release for Sankranthi and always wanted to get the movie right rather than racing for release. He also said he realized after Manam, that he is not in number game or image game anymore and he is happy about that.
He expressed his disappointment about Sahasam Swasaga Saagipo getting effected by Demonetization and said he is happy to be back as producer for his sons’ projects. About Chaitanya he said 50% of the shooting is done and Akhil movie is going through a script change and once they lock it they will start. He said it can’t be Shiva but it has the potential to replicate such game changing success if they get it right completely. About his next film, he cleared the rumours and said the Raju Gari Gadhi 2 will start from third week of February and Kalyan Krishna will direct him for Bangarraju, the sequel of Soggade Chinni Nayana. He again expressed his happiness about Manam last shot coming true in real life explaining that the second daughter-in-law’s name, Shriya is also included in the picture. When asked about the Oopiri controversy, he said when he is not involved in the matter, he doesn’t have to react to it.
