I am not fond of remakes Says Maruthi

Maruthi Dasari, the young director has become a successful director in Telugu Cinema with most of his films being successes at the box office. He recently, released his film, Mahanubhavudu, starring Sharwanand and the movie became a success for the Dussehra season, withstanding the biggies like Jai Lava Kusa and Spyder. The director is excited with the succes and he shared few insights into his thought process.

He said, “I believe a director is a tailor and he needs to stitch the clothes according to the sizes and choices of the customers. For me heroes are my customers and I should make them a suitable clothing that makes them look good. They trust me for that reason and I should not disappoint them. Till now, I did movies in different genres with a mix of comedy and I will continue doing so.”

He further said that his films doesn’t have messages but when he feels there is something that he can tell in the story then he will give a message but not makes movie just for that. He is now in talks with Naga Chaitanya for a movie and he revealed that it will be a teenage romance. “I think I did not do a pure romantic movie till now and I will do it with Naga Chaitanya. The movie is not a remake and if in future, I get an opportunity to do one, I won’t as I can’t make a sequel or a remake”, said the director.
