Kota Srinivasa Rao, a seasoned actor from Tollywood, claimed on Tuesday that social media has murdered him and urged people not to trust him.
Kota Srinivasa Rao, a veteran Tollywood actor, said on Tuesday that social media had killed him and urged others not to accept death rumours.
He published a video to refute online rumours that were being spread about him. The 75-year-old argued that those who disseminate rumours should not trifle with other people’s lives.
We should give individuals who spread rumours a suitable lesson, according to Srinivasa Rao. The actor called the death rumours “unfortunate”.
“At a time when I am busy with Ugadi festival tomorrow, the series of phone calls was disturbing. If there was some elderly person in my place, his heart would have stopped beating,” he said.
The actor also disclosed that 10 police officers visited his home following reports of his death to set up security.
“If they want popularity or money, there are many ways to earn it but spreading such rumours is not proper,” he said.
More than 700 movies have featured the character actor. In 1978, he made his acting debut in “Pranam Khareedu”.
He joined the BJP in the 1990s and won the Vijayawada East seat in the Andhra Pradesh Legislature in 1999.
