Huma Qureshi says she is enjoying her dual role as an actress and producer. She wants to support fresh stories that deserve to be told but often struggle to find producers.
Huma revealed that she and her brother Saqib Saleem held on to the script of Baby Do Die Do for four years before deciding to produce it themselves.
She believes Bollywood should encourage new ideas instead of depending on tried and tested formulas.
Huma also said that small and mid-budget films are essential for the industry’s future. In Baby Do Die Do, she plays a deaf and mute hitwoman, a role she is excited about.
She added that films led by women should be treated with the same respect, budgets, and opportunities as films led by male stars.
