Hrithik Roshan to Play Ram and Ex Brother in Law Zayed Khan to Play Lakshman?

Zayed Khan, the son of Sanjay Khan and Hrithik Roshan’s ex-brother-in-law, accepted the role of Lakshman whereas Hrithik Roshan was supposed to play Ram in the movie.

Recently, Hrithik Roshan made news for supposedly rejecting the role of Ravana in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana and leaving the production. Rumors that Alia Bhatt will take on the role of Sita in the movie, in which Ranbir Kapoor plays Ram, have recently started to circulate. Additionally, it has been said that KGF actor Yash was invited to play Ravana when HR quit the movie.

But did you know that the performer has left performances of the Ramayana before? We discovered that the Krrish actor had previously been a part of a Ramayana in development by looking through some old news. None other than his then-father-in-law, star Sanjay Khan, was producing the movie. Legend Of Ram was the name of the movie, and Khan gave his famous son-in-law the major role.

Zayed Khan, the son of Sanjay Khan and Hrithik Roshan’s ex-brother-in-law, accepted the role of Lakshman whereas Hrithik Roshan was supposed to play Ram in the movie. The Main Hoon Naa actor confirmed in an interview that “Yes, my father is indeed making the Ramayana. It’s called The Legend Of Rama. He has been planning this film for three years. But he needed the perfect Rama. And who but Hrithik would be perfect for the role? Earlier, Hrithik had no dates. But now he’s doing very selected films.” He also talked about playing Lakshman in the film and said, “Playing Laxman in one form or another is the story of my life.”

The narrative for the movie was written by British-born Faroukh Dhondy, who sought to portray it as a modernized version of the Ramayana, just like Om Raut claimed his movie Adipurush to be! It was claimed that Sanjay Khan’s Ramayana, which starred Vikram Vedha as Ram, was a traditional adaptation of contemporary film language. According to some claims, it was even greatly influenced by RR Martin’s book Game of Thrones.

In terms of the cast, Amitabh Bachchan was asked to play Dashrath in this 2009-planned movie. When the search for Sita was ongoing and the movie was abruptly shelved for reasons best known to Sanjay Khan and his team, Jackie Shroff was chosen to play Ravana. Although the film might have been rejected due to modernization, it might have been a blessing in disguise for Hrithik Roshan’s career.

Hrithik Roshan was given the opportunity to star in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana in 2021, but this time he was considered for the character of Ravana. It was said that both he and Ranbir Kapoor were eager to work on the movie and even met to read the script. For this incredibly ambitious project, both were given an offer of 75 crores as their compensation. After much deliberation, the actor ultimately made the decision to leave the movie.

Hrithik is presently collaborating with Deepika Padukone on the film Fighter. After finishing this action thriller, he will begin work on the next Krish and War chapter. While Hrithik and Jr. NTR will square off in War 2 under the direction of Ayan Mukerji, Krrish 4 is said to have a new director on board.
