According to rumours, Kangana Ranaut’s comment about her “silly ex” prompted the need for Hrithik Roshan to publicly apologise for his post.
Despite being the Greek God of Bollywood, Hrithik Roshan was called out for supposedly offending religious sensitivities when he made a cryptic jab at his then-girlfriend Kangana Ranaut a few years back. Today, we’re taking you back to the period when the Dhoom 2 actor received a legal warning from Abraham Mathai, vice-chairman of the Maharashtra Minority Commission, for offending the feelings of the Christian community by mentioning the “Pope” in a social media post.
Since 2014, when the rumours of Kangana and Hrithik’s relationship first surfaced, the former has been seen poking fun of the latter. The two collaborated on the film Krrish 3 in 2013, and suspicions of their supposed connection surfaced afterwards. When Kangana referred to Hrithik as her “silly ex,” things spiralled out of control, and he launched a lawsuit against her, demanding a public apology.
After that, Hrithik Roshan once used his Twitter account to answer all rumours making the rounds in the media and to subtly poke fun at Kangana Ranaut. According to a report, he stated, “I have a greater chance of having an affair with the Pope than any of the (I’m sure wonderful) women the media has named. Thank you, but no thanks.
Abraham Mathai sent a notice to Hrithik Roshan for that, and the actor was asked to apologise within seven days or a criminal complaint would be filed, according to his lawyer Rizwan Siddiquee. The notice was sent to the actor in accordance with Section 295-A of the Indian Penal Code.
He has offended the religious sensitivities, feelings, and beliefs of Christians (Roman Catholics) all around the world, including my client, according to Sidiquee. Hrithik Roshan must issue a written public apology to my client within seven days.
Hrithik Roshan will soon be seen in Fighter alongside Deepika Padukone on the professional front.
