Chennai witnessed tense scenes on Friday when simultaneous bomb threat calls were made to three high profile locations, CM M.K. Stalin’s residence, actress Trisha’s house and the Raj Bhavan.
The news created panic across the city with police teams and bomb squads immediately rushing to the spots. Intensive checks were carried out using sniffer dogs and advanced detection devices to ensure safety.
After hours of searches authorities confirmed that the threats were hoaxes. However the false alarms left people anxious and sparked a wave of discussions and speculations on social media.
For several hours the city remained on edge with residents worried about safety and security. Senior police officers assured the public that strict security are already in place.
Meanwhile an investigation has begun to trace the culprits behind the calls and strict action is expected against them.
