There are several genre films that were in the limelight for a while and then went out of fashion. One of the best examples of that is the faction genre, which was all that every top hero wanted to be a part of, in the late 1990s and early 2000. After that, the faction genre has never made a comeback in Tollywood, and everyone forgot about it.
More recently, the horror-comedy genre experienced a similar fate, with every filmmaker trying their hand at the genre for guaranteed success. There have been several films in the genre, and all of them turned out to be successes. Prema Katha Chitram, Raju Gari Gadhi (1&2), Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada, Anando Brahma, are some of the successful films of this genre. Soon after though, this genre faded out. The last film that released in this genre was Raju Gari Gadhi 3, which turned out to be a disaster.
It is now being said that Ohmkar is trying to revive this genre once again, with Raju Gari Gadi 4, which would feature his brother as the leading man. This is a huge risk for Ohmkar, given that Raju Gari Gadhi 3, which he directed, wasn’t a successful one.
