Nani, who delivered a hat-trick of hits with Dasara, Hi Nanna, and Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, is now ready to score a second hat-trick with HIT 3. This marks the third film in the HIT universe. Directed by Sailesh Kolanu, who last helmed the flop Saindhav, HIT 3 features Nani in a full-length bloody action role—quite the contrast to his usual image. The teaser and trailer created tremendous buzz, raising huge expectations for HIT 3. So, has Nani’s risky move paid off? Let’s find out!

HIT 3 Review

Story: A series of identical murders are happening across India. The killer uses the same technique each time and uploads the videos on the dark web. Enter Arjun Sarkar (Nani), a cop assigned to crack the case. Who is this cult gang? What is their motive? Why are these murders being committed? How does Arjun manage to stop them? These questions form the plot of HIT: The Third Case.

Performances: This film showcases a new dimension of Nani, blending mass appeal with raw violence. Though the trailer set certain expectations, the film surprises with its emotional depth and intensity. Nani displays a strong emotional core along with powerful screen presence. Srinidhi Shetty’s character is well-conceived but loses its strength in the second half, where it is reduced to a typical role, diminishing its impact.

Prateik Babbar’s role is initially intriguing, but the character’s motivations and behavior lack clarity. As a result, his portrayal of cruelty fails to make a lasting impression. Komalee Prasad delivers well in her supporting role, and a few surprise cameos are cleverly placed, though they don’t always hit with the intended impact.

Technical Aspects: The action sequences are a major strength. The final 20 minutes, in particular, are thrilling. Real Sathish’s choreography stands out, though he inadvertently spoiled some surprise elements during the pre-release event. Sanu Varghese’s cinematography is striking, especially with his use of red and orange tones in action scenes.

However, the CGI eagle that appears repeatedly is distracting and poorly executed. Production designer Nagendra deserves praise for creating a gritty, immersive world filled with blood, violence, and raw intensity.

Analysis: HIT 3’s scale is evident, especially in the police investigation and set design. While Sailesh Kolanu’s idea of introducing a cult is interesting, its execution lacks depth. Earlier films like Chandrasekhar Yeleti’s Oka V Chitram handled similar concepts more naturally. Still, HIT 3 demonstrates the power of background actors and how their expressions can enhance brutality on screen, though more care could’ve been taken in these areas.

The film does a good job building the HIT universe, similar to how Marvel connects its cinematic world. Small, clever details (like Arjun’s expertise in radio communication) enhance the storytelling without heavy exposition. Kolanu shines in character establishment and writing, but the second half could have been more refined. Overall, while it’s not as tight as HIT: The First Case, it’s still an ambitious attempt.

Some films carve out new paths—HIT 3 is one of them. Telugu audiences are slowly embracing darker thrillers and survival narratives. Though the film doesn’t fully satisfy in all aspects, it marks a bold shift for Nani. The emotional sequence involving the young girl is particularly effective. HIT 3 is a landmark in Nani’s career, pushing the boundaries of mainstream Telugu action cinema.

Verdict: Overall, HIT 3 is Nani like never before. With each film, he is reinventing himself, and this film is just the start of mega stardom for him. Action movie lovers and the masses will enjoy HIT 3. The story is simple and is made in such a way that it is out and action,n and this aspect is the selling point and makes HIT 3 a super hit.

Bottom Line-Nani like never before
