Hippi, the film which has been making headlines since the day it went on floors, is released on Thursday and undoubtedly, it has failed at the box office. This Karthikeya Gummakonda starrer, which is directed by TN Krishna, couldn’t live up to the expectations of the audience and here is more of what we to say about the review.
Plot: Hippi Devadas climbs on the top floor of an under construction building to jump and make a suicide attempt. But once he sees his girlfriend Amukthamalyada reaching the top, he becomes quiet and come downstairs with her. The story goes to the flashback and Karthikeya himself narrates his love story. His friends and cousins also play a key role in his love story. The twists and turns in the plot form the crux of the story.
Performances: Karthikeya was good enough is his role, but it was difficult to see him in this kind of role, after watching a movie like RX 100. Expectations were huge, but he has failed in living up to them. Digangana Suryavanshi, in her debut film, looked pretty glamorous and has performed well too. Vennela Kishore and Brahmaji have done all the necessary comedy. JD Chakravarti has done his role in a better way, though it didn’t have much to do with the story of Hippi and his girlfriend.
Analysis: Karthikeya has made a big mistake by giving a nod to this film which has no story and sense. Digangana, probably, should have waited for a better story for her debut in Telugu. Director Krishna should have written the script and screenplay in a much matured way. This film is so amateurish and in real life, these kind of things don’t work at all. May be he should have taken suggestions from seniors at least.
RATING: 1.5/5
