Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor’s new film, Jersey which is a remake of the 2019 Telugu film with the same title had a theatrical release globally yesterday. Opened to below-par reports, the film has failed miserably to generate revenues at the box office on its opening day.
Trade reports indicate that Jersey minted just Rs 5 crore gross from the Indian box office on its opening day. If the same momentum continues, the film has very fewer chances to emerge as a box office winner, say, cinema analysts.
Also starring Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur in key roles, Gowtham Tinnanuri who directed the original version directed the Hindi version as well. Naga Vamsi, Dil Raju, and Allu Aravind in association with Aman Gill bankrolled Jersey in Hindi.
