The Telangana High Court has ordered that children under 16 should not watch movies in theaters or multiplexes after 11 PM in the state. This decision came after discussions with child psychologists and other experts.
The court also suggested that the government regulate theater timings for children, allowing them only between 11 AM and 11 PM.
During a hearing about increased movie ticket prices and special shows, Justice B. Vijayasen Reddy highlighted that letting children watch movies late at night or early in the morning could harm their physical and mental health.
The petitioner’s lawyer also pointed out the negative effects of watching odd-hour movies on children’s well-being, which the court considered while making its decision.
So, kids need to plan and adjust their timings to watch movies within the allowed hours.
