The Bombay High Court has delivered a setback to actress Hansika Motwani by dismissing her petition to quash a domestic violence case filed against her. The case began in December 2024 when Muskan Nancy James, wife of Hansika’s brother Prashanth Motwani accused Hansika, her mother-in-law Jyothi James and Prashanth of harassment.
The dispute dates back to 2020, when Prashanth married TV actress Muskan Nancy James. Their marriage initially appeared happy but later faced difficulties leading to a mutual separation. During this period, Muskan alleged that Hansika pressured her for Rs. 20 lakhs and expensive gifts threatening her if she refused. Hansika denied these claims stating that the issue was primarily financial. She explained that Prashanth had spent Rs. 27 lakhs on the wedding and Muskan demanded repayment during their separation.
Hansika called the case baseless and malicious, claiming it was meant to damage her reputation. Despite her arguments the court allowed the legal process to continue that means Hansika and her family now face a lengthy legal battle. Prashanth also stated that Muskan had harassed him and filed false claims to create pressure.
This case highlights how family disputes can escalate into public legal battles especially involving celeb’s. With rumours about Hansika’s personal life adding pressure the matter continues to attract media attention as the judicial process unfolds.
