Hero’s Double Duty, Boyapati’s Logical Approach

Boyapati’s films are often characterized by their heavy action sequences, the presence of heavily dressed women, copious amounts of bloodshed, and the hero effortlessly defeating hordes of goons. A recurring theme in his recent movies is the dual role of the hero.

In a recent interview, Boyapati explained his rationale for this dual role concept. He mentioned that in movies like Simha, Legend, Akhanda, and Skanda, he introduces a supremely powerful character who overshadows the hero.

However, Boyapati believes that the same actor who plays the lead role should also portray this dominant character. He argues that the actor, who has put in hard work throughout the film, shouldn’t end up lying unconscious while another hero takes the spotlight in a guest role during the climax.

From Boyapati’s perspective, it’s about giving credit to the lead actor who has trusted and worked with him. While this approach has its merits, some viewers may find it repetitive, and it might be time for Boyapati to explore fresh storytelling methods in his films.
