Director Shiva Nirvana is coming up with a different story with Irumudi. Starring Ravi Teja and Priya Bhavani Shankar, the film is set to release on August 21st.
The Ayyappa Mala backdrop led to rumours that Ram Charan might make a cameo. However Shiva Nirvana has confirmed that Ram Charan is not part of the film.
The director said Irumudi is mainly a family emotional drama mixed with crime elements.
To bring authenticity, Shiva personally followed the Mala tradition, attended Padipoojas, met Guruswamis and visited Sabarimala. He also praised Ravi Teja’s supportive nature on set.
Shiva revealed that the title Irumudi represents the film’s key connections involving the father and daughter bond, Ayyappa devotion and the crime storyline.
