Hema Malini talked about her odd union with Dharmendra and said she doesn’t dwell on the negative aspects of life. She emphasized their unique path together and parenting their girls.
One of the longest-lasting partnerships in Bollywood has been Hema Malini and Dharmendra. But since their 1980 wedding, they have lived an unusual life. Dharmendra had four children and was already married at the time, making their connection contentious and causing quite a stir in society. Hema, however, has remained stoic and upbeat the entire time, saying she believes in living life as it comes and has no regrets at all.
Hema was hailed as a feminist icon in an interview for choosing to live apart from Dharmendra and raise their two daughters. Despite the fact that she didn’t want to be in this circumstance, she understood that one must occasionally accept and adjust to unforeseen events that happen in life. Hema emphasized that despite their unusual living situation, Dharmendra has always been there for his family.
She said that while every woman wants to have a typical household with a husband and kids, sometimes circumstances force women down other avenues. Hema made it clear that she was happy with herself and didn’t feel guilty or angry about the circumstance. She was elated to have her two children in her life, and she was proud of how well she had raised them. She made it clear that she was okay with her marriage to Dharmendra being unorthodox and made it clear that she couldn’t pout about it.
Hema Malini credited her spiritual guide, a “guru ma,” who supported her throughout her professional and personal life, for teaching her how to handle such out-of-the-ordinary circumstances. Even though Dharmendra was worried and thought they should get married right away, she realised that he had always been there for their kids. The phrase “shaadi hona chaiye bachchon ka jaldi”
Dharmendra and Prakash Kaur, with whom he had four children, were already the bride and groom when they got married in 1980. Esha and Ahana are Hema and Dharmendra’s two daughters. Over the years, their family dynamics have generated curiosity and debate.
Notably, Dharmendra’s granddaughter Karan Deol’s recent wedding rites were missed by Hema, Esha, and Ahana, which caused Dharmendra to express his feelings through a touching social media message dedicated to them.
