Akshay Kumar, had to go through several image changes in his long career to reach the heights he did. He was introduced as an hardcore action hero and then ventured into comedy. But the Khiladi Kumar, did not find it easy until he started remaking and collaborating with Priyadarshan. The duo gave many comedy movies that hit the bulls eye without fail and Akshay also resurged his action hero image with films like Rowdy Rathore. As many say, even sweet gets bitter if it is overcooked and that became a truth in Akshay ‘s career. He needed A Wednesday’s Neeraj Pandey to give him another dimension in his career as a patriot.
The result, made him the lead of critical and commercial successes, Baby, Airlift and recent, Rustom. He is now touted to be modern age Manoj Kumar. All, this started with one film and that is, Special 26. The fictionalised real story of a group of conmen, who posed as CBI officers and raided the wealthy bussiness men who accumulated Black Money and then pulled off a one time massive gig, by recruiting new CBI officers. This movie, Special 26 has been in the news for it’s possible remake in Telugu. But several delays had postponed the actual start of the film. Harish Shankar owns the rights of the film and as reported in several news outlets falsely, he did not sell them to anyone.
The news is that he is planning to launch a new production house with his friend Krishna and as the first production, he will direct and produce the remake of Special 26. Harish is busy with the works of Duvvada Jagannadham, starring Allu Arjun and produced by Dil Raju on Sri Venkateswara Creations banner. Once he completes the film, he will start working on the script and casting of the movie, it seems.
