Harish Roy passed away in Bengaluru on Thursday, November 6th after battling thyroid cancer for several years. He was undergoing treatment at Kidwai Cancer Hospital but his condition worsened recently.
Harish Roy began his acting career in the early 1990s and became one of Kannada cinema’s most familiar faces with memorable performances in many films.
In recent years he spoke openly about his illness and financial struggles receiving support from several industry members including Yash.
Known for his strong on screen presence Harish was humble and kind off-screen.
His demise has left the Kannada film industry heartbroken. He is survived by his wife and two sons. His final rites will take place in Bengaluru.
