Hanuman Ansh, made on a budget of just Rs. 2 crore, became a surprise Bollywood blockbuster, reportedly collecting around Rs. 400 crore. Its success created strong interest among Telugu audiences. The film was finally released in Telugu states on October 9th after Trivikram stepped away from its Telugu presentation. Now, the focus is on how Telugu audiences have received the film.

Hanuman Ansh Story: The film tells the story of Lakshminarayan Sharma, born in 1905, who loses his mother at a young age. After being told that she has gone to Lord Rama, he becomes deeply devoted to him and begins a spiritual journey.

Even after marriage, he chooses spirituality over family life. The story follows his journey from an ordinary boy to the revered spiritual figure Neem Karoli Baba and explores his devotion, miracles and service to society.

Performances: Shobhinav Satya impresses as Neem Karoli Baba with his natural acting, despite it being his debut. Chandan K Anand and Purnima Tiwari also deliver good performances, while the child actors and supporting cast leave a lasting impression.

Technical Aspects: Director Vishal Chaturvedi has done extensive research on Neem Karoli Baba’s life. Instead of focusing on celebrity visits, he uses fictional elements to highlight Baba’s miracles and spiritual journey. Though the film has no strong storyline, the director keeps the narration engaging and takes audiences into a spiritual world.

However, shaky camera work, limited CGI and a few production flaws affect the visuals. The three music directors deliver good work, maintaining the film’s mood. Editing could have been tighter, especially in the second half, which feels slightly lengthy.

Analysis: Hanuman Ansh has created good buzz among Telugu audiences, and its dubbing is impressive. The first half offers a spiritual experience, but the second half feels lengthy and slow.

Though the film may not feel new to devotional movie lovers, the director deserves appreciation for presenting a meaningful film beyond regular commercial cinema.

Verdict: A devotional film that offers a spiritual experience, Hanuman Ansh impresses with its sincere approach, despite a lengthy second half and familiar storyline.

Bottom Line: A decent devotional film with a spiritual core.

Rating: 3/5
