The mother of Hansika Motwani made headlines online by requesting 5 lakhs from the groom’s family.
In order to show her devoted followers what precisely happened behind the scenes, actress Hansika Motwani revealed in early 2023 that her real-life wedding to billionaire Sohael Kathuria would be broadcast on a streaming network. The newest episode of the filmed series, titled “Love Shaadi Drama,” revealed how Hansika’s mother Mona Motwani took exception to Sohael’s family being late for the festivities.
The actor’s wedding reality programme, which is presently being watched on Disney Plus Hotstar, highlighted how Mona Motwani was seen complaining about being late to Kathuria’s mother over the phone. On December 4, 2022, Hansika and Sohael Kathuria exchanged vows in Rajasthan. The celebrations leading up to the wedding included a polo match during the mehendi sangeet and haldi ceremonies.
The episode features a peculiar demand made by Hansika Motwani’s mother, who wants 5 million rupees for each additional minute of delay. A report claims that Mona can be seen saying to them during a call, “I have a humble request to make. Kathurias are people who are very late and Motwani’s are very punctual. She adds, “If you come late today, you must pay me Rs 5 lakh for every minute of delay. I make this request because the inauspicious hour is between 4:30 p.m to 6 p.m. So I request if you could come a little early.”
While Hansika Motwani’s documented series has received criticism on numerous occasions, an Instagram user by the name of Freddy subtly criticised her opulent wedding by disclosing her mother’s disruptive behaviour during the ceremony. Farah Khan, a renowned choreographer and director in Bollywood, immediately commented on it, stating, “U may as well have created the name,” and finishing with a laughing emoticon.
One user commented, “Hahahaha well said @freddy_birdy this show is so bad that it is GOOD.”
Another stated, “I don’t know how they approved the cut, they are very visibly very unlikable” as another added, “Haha watched the first episode and the only one sensible person in that episode seemed eve Driver. did not finish that episode too.”

Hansika, on the other hand, expressed her emotions when she saw Sohael waiting at the mandap. “It was so surreal. It hit me so hard and I was like ‘I am getting married to the love of my life’” adding, “It was the best feeling. Things are getting real. I am getting married. I don’t know how to explain it. And it was just something so different and I broke down.”
