Several news reports have arrived that for the period fantasy costume drama, Sangamitra, produced by Thenandal films, Hansika Motwani has been cast in the role of Sanghamitra but the sources from Thenendal Films suggest that the actress has just been approached but nothing has been confirmed yet. Earlier, the role went to Shruthi Haasan but the actress walked out of the project post the big event launch of the movie at Cannes Film Festival.
The actress did not disclose what were her major concerns but just said that she had some issues with the script and walked out of the project. Ever since, the actors like Arya and Jayam Ravi are waiting for the production to find a suitable replacement to the actress to start the production for the movie. Jayam Ravi also expressed his happiness to be a part of such huge production and wanted the movie to start shooting early as well.
The producers are approaching many leading actresses with lucrative deals as per the sources. They have met Nayantara and Anushka Shetty but both the actresses did not seem to be highly interested in the offer and then came the name, Hansika. As the actress shares a close bond with the director, Sundar C., the actress is expected to be finalised in the movie soon. But the makers are still looking for a big name and actress for the movie and there are not yet ready to confirm any actress name for their prestigious project.
