GV Prakash On Kingston: “A Visual Spectacle Rooted In Indian Folklore”

GV Prakash Kumar‘s Kingston is set for a grand release on March 7. This film marks his debut as a producer and is made on a large scale in collaboration with Parallel Universe Pictures and Zee Studios.

GV Prakash describes Kingston as a mix of Baahubali‘s grandeur and Kantara’s spiritual depth. The story is set in a cursed coastal village where a fisherman, played by Prakash himself, dares to uncover the mystery that prevents villagers from entering the sea.

His journey leads him to an underwater world filled with zombies and spirits. Prakash underwent intense training for underwater scenes, even holding his breath for three minutes at a time.

Directed by Kamal Prakash the film features stunning visuals by Gokul Benoy and uses innovative filming techniques, including miniature sets and boat-mounted cameras, to capture the vastness of the ocean. GV Prakash believes the film’s technical brilliance will impress even Hollywood.

Beyond action, Kingston is deeply rooted in Indian folklore, aiming to bring ancestral stories to life. The Telugu version is being released by Ganga Entertainments’ Maheswara Reddy Mooli.
