Gautamiputra Satakarni being a historical film featuring a sitting Member of Legislative Assembly, Nandamuri Balakrishna, it has become the latest go to film for all sort of controversies in Telugu Cinema these days. The film got Tax Exemption from both the Telugu states, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. While few historians are unhappy about this and few are trying to bring a discussion on Satakarni and his identity. In the meantime, Guna Sekhar is taking an offence to Andhra Pradesh government not giving his film, Rudrama Devi that was in production for three years and saw the day light with the help of cameo from Allu Arjun and help of Allu Aravind. Even Mega Star gave his voice to the film. With all these attractions and production with his own movie, he went to both the governments requesting Tax exemption for his film. He got it from Telangana but not from Andhra Pradesh government.
Well, with Gautamiputra Satakarni getting exemption from both states, Guna Sekhar is taking offence for not giving his historical film an exemption. He issued an open letter requesting Andhra Pradesh government to award his film as well exemption and award the money of Tax collected already as an encouraging reward. The government did not react to his plea so he is claiming this as Gender bias on Rudrama Devi as the film was about a Lady Queen. Well, Andhra Pradesh government can take this as an offence in trying to malign them and take action on the director producer.
