Good Night by Vinayak Chandrasekaran is filled with numerous consoling elements. What if you ask? It includes poetry about the universal flaws we all possess as well as slices of everyday life featuring regular people riding local trains to work and eating buttery buns and other things. A movie that plays like a lighthearted joke told on a dark night. What a joy it is to watch a movie that not only values life’s simple pleasures but also deftly conjures up a universe filled with a variety of these delights for every man. An important issue in our lives, snoring has been the subject of a Tamil film.

Story : Mohan (Manikandan) works in information technology and lives happily with his family. But because of his snoring problem, he is made fun of by everyone. Additionally, because Mohan struggles with English, his supervisor, Bagavathi Perumal, despises him. In contrast, we see Anu (Meetha Raghunath), an orphan who works for an auditing company. Unexpectedly meeting, Mohan and Anu gradually develop feelings for one another. Later, Mohan weds Anu with his parent’s approval. However, Mohan’s snoring problem has an impact on his marriage. What then transpired? The main plot point of the story is this.

Analysis: This professionally created movie focuses on snoring. You can gauge how much an individual with two challenges develops an inferiority complex by making fun of them. Scenes showed the couple’s pain that was concealed by the question. Additionally, they organize a lot of the questions asked of bereaved persons regarding their need for love. Instead of shooting them with sadness, the director uses amusing and engaging humor to capture them in the heart.

Technicalities : The charming music by Sean Roldan flows naturally into the story. Too good cinematography was done by Jayanth Sethu Mathavan. The production design is attractive, and the budget for the film was adhered to. The first half’s editing is passable, but the second half’s editing could have been even better.

With his first film, Good Night, filmmaker Vinayak Chandrasekaran has a strong start. A clever blending of comedy and emotions effectively tells a straightforward story. Vinayak Chandrasekaran is the one to keep an eye on because he also got strong performances out of the major actors.

Verdict: Overall, Good Night is a straightforward but endearing movie that addresses a widespread health problem. With this slice-of-life drama, filmmaker Vinayak Chandrasekaran makes a promising debut. Manikandan and Meetha Raghunath give outstanding performances. On the other hand, a few clichés could have been avoided, and the movie can occasionally feel a little slow. However, if you enjoy watching humorous dramas, Good Night will be enjoyable to watch.
