Ginna Movie Review and Rating

Hero Manchu Vishnu’s rural drama, Ginna under the direction of Eeshaan Suryaah has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it fares.

Story: Set in a village in the Chittoor district, the film revolves around the life story of Ginna( Manchu Vishnu) and his childhood friends. While one of the friends named Swathi( Payal Rajput) loves Ginna, the other girl Renuka goes to the US due to her family problems in childhood itself. After almost fifteen years, Renuka( Sunny Leone) returns to the village searching for Ginna and other friends. How will the story take a turn with the entry of Renuka? What is the major twist in Renuka’s character, forms the main crux.

Performances: Firstly, Manchu Vishnu surprises with his dance movements in three songs. He did hard work to perform action stunts which is visible on screen. Acting-wise, Vishnu is okay with his usual acting.

Heroine Payal Rajput is decent in the village belle avatar. Her skinny show in the song is a treat for the youth. Payal’s chemistry with Vishnu is showcased nicely without going over the board.

Sunny Leone is fine with her glamorous appearance. Her dance movements in a song and acting during the climax portions bring depth to the proceedings to an extent.

The comedy track between Vennela Kishore and Chamak Chandra is hilarious. Artists such as Raghu Babu, Naresh, and Annapurnamma among others are okay in their respective roles.

Technicalities: The music composed by Anup Rubens is good as his mass-sounding clicks on the screen in three songs and a couple of key scenes. Editing work by Chota K Prasad is okay as he kept the runtime within limits.

The photography work by Chota K Naidu is alright. The framing and lighting setup work are visible in three songs. Prabhu Deva, Prem Rakshit and Ganesh Acharya did a fine job as dancer choreographers.

Production values for this limited-budget movie are okay.

Analysis: The film’s story and screenplay provided by Mohan Babu lack freshness in it but still, the director Eeshaan Suryaah tried to execute the film on a decent note. The way Sunny Leone’s character transforms during the last twenty minutes is good but would have showcased the entire portion in an even more effective manner.

The dialogues provide by Kona Venkat are apt for the film’s Chittoor nativity, the screenplay would have been much better to provide a better viewing experience for the audience. To summerize, Ginna is a comedy-coated rural drama that has a few engaging moments in both halves. Considering the festival weekend, the film might make some noise at the box office in B and C centres.
