India was represented by Ranveer Singh, the NBA India brand ambassador from 2021.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, a Greek-Nigerian basketball player who also coached Dwayne Wade’s winning team, expressed his appreciation to Bollywood star Ranveer Singh, who just participated in the 2023 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game for Wade’s team.
Ranveer, who has been the brand ambassador for NBA India since 2021, represented India at the 2023 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, where he competed against stars like rapper 21 Savage, actress Janelle Monae, wrestler The Miz, and stars of the movies Glass Onion and Simu Liu.
Giannis is heard stating in a video posted by Ranveer Singh’s fan group. He said, “You gotta hit the people with the speech you give them before the game, you said be bold, be brave and I loved that. He (Ranveer) said ‘Be Bold, Be The Moment, Be Courageous. Let’s go win’. I loved it, I loved it.”
Speaking further about Ranveer Singh, he continued, “The tenacity our team had today if this guy (Ranveer) was not on our team, we wouldn’t have it. He brought energy to our team. It was our soul, you know, he is the fire that keeps our building warm at night, he was the fire to that.”
