Jayaram and Shiva Rajkumar feature in the action thriller Ghost. The narrative, which takes place in a prison, centers on a man who breaks in to expose a dishonest prisoner. The direction is lacking, with underdeveloped secondary characters, even though the performances are excellent. Even with its shortcomings, it provides exciting moments.

Story: There are several ways in which the movie and Jawan are comparable. It tells the tale of a man who, with the assistance of a few other prisoners, breaks into a jail with the intention of bringing a dishonest and evil man to justice. This is the story of Ghost, in case you were wondering. It sounds like Jawan, doesn’t it? We have to admit that even while there are some striking parallels between the two, the outcome is still very different. The audience will soon get to see a second portion of the film, maybe starring Anupam Kher in a more major role rather than a blink and you’ll miss its appearance. In fact, even the ending is similar.

The entire movie, which is set in a jail, centers on the cat-and-mouse game between a merciless police officer and a nearly flawless criminal who has broken into the institution. It stars Prashant Narayan as the secondary antagonist in addition to Dr. Shiva Rajkumar and Jayaram in the key roles. But even though he had a smaller role on screen and was the secondary adversary, he added more to the narrative than Jayaram did.

Performances: Since the entire film focuses solely on Shiva and Jayaram, it would be incredibly unfair to evaluate this movie based solely on the performances of its stars and supporting cast. Less than twenty minutes were spent on screen for all the other characters combined. On the other hand, Ghost has done a fantastic job of justifying Shiva and Jayaram’s dominating on-screen presence. The actors were both outstanding in their own right, and their encounter at the end was very powerful. The fact that there was no action during their final meeting was its best feature.

Technicalities: Given the abundance of unresolved issues and underdeveloped moments in the movie, it’s reasonable to surmise that Srini wasn’t prepared for a movie starring two A-list actors. If only there had been more space for the supporting characters to grow with the main characters, the story would have been more appealing and better. The power struggle between a “No Mercy” police officer and a “Hungry For Justice” criminal is expertly shown by Srini, but the whole performance is mediocre at best.

Although Srini’s directing may not have lived up to the story’s expectations, it excels in terms of research and production value. The way that everything that had been falling apart in the first half of the movie started to fit into place in the second half further demonstrated how well-written and researched the movie was.

Analysis: 2023 has been a year filled with intense action, both on screen and in real life. This is arguably one of the most thrilling years in Indian film history, with films like Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan and Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2. Presently, Shiva Rajkumar and Jayaram star in M. G. Srinivas’ next action thriller, Ghost, which is aimed at a broad audience. It makes sense that Shiva had to go through intense training to become Ghost; he most likely had to perform a lot of jumping jacks, weightlifting, and other workouts. It’s clear that his preferred workout must have been jumping jacks because he and the other cast members somehow

Verdict: It used to be believed that action films were solely focused on action. Later motion pictures like Daniel Craig’s James Bond and Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible reversed this tendency. With everything taken into account, we award Ghost a respectable 2.5 stars, primarily for being entertaining and occasionally even thrilling.
