GHMC Notices Shock Telugu Film Studios

Annapurna Studios and Ramanaidu Studios are two of the oldest and most respected film studios in Telugu cinema.

After the industry moved from Chennai to Hyderabad many years ago these studios were built and have supported thousands of movie shoots. Annapurna Studios is managed by the Akkineni family while Ramanaidu Studios is managed by the Daggubati family.

Recently the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) sent notices to both studios for not paying the correct trade license fees.

According to GHMC, Annapurna Studios is using around 1,92,000 sq. ft. of space but has been paying tax only for 81,000 sq. ft. They should pay nearly Rs 11,52,000, but they are paying only Rs 49,000.

Similarly, Ramanaidu Studios should be paying Rs 2,73,000 in tax but they are paying just Rs 76,000. GHMC has asked both studios to respond and give a proper explanation for this tax underpayment.
