Sankalp Reddy, Australian trained writer- director struggled hard to find a producer for his ambitious Ghazi and once he got Rana Daggubati on board he was able to get a producer like PVP to make his movie in Hindi and Telugu. The movie did make a name for all the technicians involved and Karan Johar distributed the movie in Hindi. The movie gave the young director confidence to handle much more complex subjects and he is planning to explore that in his next movie.
The young director got a nod from actor Varun Tej, after narrating his idea and few scenes. The actor gave him time to work on the subject completely and come up with a narration by the time he completes his Fidaa with Shekar Kammula and another movie with debutant Venky Atluri. The actor after the debacles of Puri Jagannath’s Loafer and Srinu Vaitla’s Mister, has become more careful in script selection and wants to be double sure with the script before starting the shoot.
Sankalp Reddy did not want to do some run of the mill kind of a movie and chose a science fiction story. The sources close to the director revealed, ” He always wanted to be different from the herd and this movie will give him a chance to do so. The movie once again is VFX heavy and the pre-production work will take lot of time as the budget won’t be as extravagant as a Baahubali movie.” The director will start the movie by November- December period by which Varun is expected to complete his pending commitments.
