Vijay Devarakonda is one person who comes across as someone with no filters and genuinely speaking from his heart and trying to spread a warmth across as well. He met press to talk about his new release, Geetha Govindam which will hit theatres on 15th August. The bookings of the movie are phenomenal but Vijay looked worn out due to piracy and other stressful things. He said, “I know how painful it is to see your hardwork go in vain. Hopefully Geetha Govindam will not be hugely affected by the leaks but we are hurt for sure. Coming to my health, I feel I need to take a vacation or just a week off to rejuvenate as my career is not in my control.”
He talked about the What the Life Song and said, “We wanted a song that will be raw and simple. I sang it because I am fascinated with singing and if had known how bad it would be received I might have worked on it for months. In future if I try, I will keep this experience in my mind. For now, we opted for a singer even though we thought of launching a new singer, we did not have enough time to find a voice that we can launch. In India, you will hear it in the singer’s voice and in Overseas, people will hear the song in my voice only.”
He also talked about what prompted him to take up such a film which he wasn’t comfortable to choose at the beginning. He said, “I thought there are many actors who can do Family entertainers and I personally like watching them. But when it comes to acting, I prefer serious films as I think I can shine in them more. We knew while making Arjun Reddy, that it is for a set of audience only. But this isn’t. When I was hesitating Bunny Vasu, the producer explained it to me how important it is to do these kind of universal acceptance movies. In the edit suite itself my team, I and even my directors kid were laughing. So, I hope the movie will be liked by many too.” He also said that he copied his director in terms of performance in the movie.
